US.- The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has revealed plans to start accepting fresh applications for event wagering licenses, signaling a further expansion of the state’s regulated sports betting sector. This application phase will be active from June 26 through July 10, 2026, concluding at 5pm Arizona time, and all submissions must be finalized within this timeframe.
According to state legislation, specifically A.R.S. §5‑1304 and A.A.C. R19‑4‑105 and 106, the ADG is required to set aside a minimum of one license for an Arizona tribe and another for an Arizona sports franchise.
Event wagering became legal in Arizona in 2021. Since its inception, gamblers have wagered $33.9bn, contributing almost $179.9m in privilege fees to the state. The foundational legislation set a limit of 20 operator licenses for the market, equally divided between tribes and sports franchises.
At present, 14 operators hold licenses. The ADG has consistently reopened application periods, with the most recent occurring in July 2024, to fill any vacant positions.

Produced in cooperation with the National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties (CNIL), the document targets all licensed operators in France, including online betting and poker sites, casinos, gaming halls, and the historic monopoly operators FDJ and PMU.
While presented as guidance and not legally binding rules, the paper emphasizes that the duties outlined have been applicable since the GDPR took effect in 2018. It underscores the volume and sensitivity of data processed by gambling firms, encompassing personal identification, contact and payment details, betting and transaction logs, marketing records, and responsible gambling indicators.
Operators are required to designate a data protection officer, chart their data processing operations, implement privacy policies, maintain procedural documentation, and conduct data protection impact assessments as needed.

In the latter half of 2025, the algorithm detected about 600,000 players with a high probability of excessive gambling. This segment made up 8.7 per cent of the online gambling customer base across licensed providers in France.
From this group, some 300,000 were categorized as “manifestly excessive” gamblers, a group the ANJ stated operators must promptly identify. These high-risk players produced approximately €1.2bn in GGR, representing 60 per cent of all online gambling revenue. The regulator noted this share has been consistently increasing since 2023.

According to the statistics, this growth was almost exclusively fueled by online gambling. The information was provided by LADIS, the national monitoring body for specialized addiction services, and released by the healthcare data foundation IVZ.
Gambling was the only type of addiction to record a significant surge in treatment requests. In total, specialized services reporting to the monitor provided care to nearly 68,000 individuals for addiction in 2025, a figure that remains virtually stable compared to the year prior. Alcohol continued to be the primary addiction, representing 43 per cent of all cases, a figure that climbed to 60 per cent for those aged 55 and older. Among those under 25, cannabis was the most prevalent issue.
Approximately half of the individuals pursuing assistance for gambling were new patients, which indicates a rise in the number of people developing gambling-related issues rather than a relapse among those previously treated.
This upward trajectory persists, following a trend that emerged in 2023 after a multi-year decline between 2019 and 2022. Although the number of clinics participating in the LADIS network has grown, this factor does not fully explain the increase. The report notes that the rise was also observed among service providers that have consistently submitted data since 2016.
