Nevada’s February Gaming Revenue Sees Modest Increase
(AsiaGameHub) - Revenue saw a 1.5 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has announced that casinos across the state reported $1.23 billion in revenue for February. This represents a year-over-year increase of 1.5 per cent.
Clark County, encompassing areas such as the Strip, downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip, and surrounding regions, generated $1.07 billion in revenue, marking a 0.7 per cent rise from the same month in 2025. The Las Vegas Strip alone accounted for $696.2 million, an increase of 0.86 per cent.
In other areas, Washoe County, which includes casinos in Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe, reported $84.2 million in revenue, a 7.1 per cent increase year-over-year. South Lake Tahoe contributed $18 million, up 1.5 per cent, Elko County generated $33.6 million, an increase of 7.7 per cent, and the Carson Valley Area saw $10.3 million, a 4.2 per cent rise.
The state collected $73 million in percentage fees, which is a 3 per cent decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
Figures from the NGCB also indicated that $133.8 million was wagered on this year's Super Bowl across the state's 186 sportsbooks, representing the lowest handle in a decade. According to NGCB chairman Mike Dreitzer, unaudited data showed a sportsbook win of $9.9 million, resulting in a hold of 7.4 per cent.

Reportedly, Spain’s Codere is on the market for sale
(AsiaGameHub) - Investment fund owners of Codere have reportedly hired banks to provide advice on a potential sale.
Spain.- Codere, which ranks as Spain's second-largest gambling operator behind Cirsa, is said to be for sale. According to Spanish publication Expansión, the firm has retained Jefferies and Macquarie Capital to counsel on a sale that could value it at approximately €2bn.
The report indicates that interested parties should lodge preliminary, non-binding offers by mid-May, with completion of a deal expected by August. The digital division Codere Online would likely be part of any transaction, according to sources.
The company's equity is presently distributed among more than 80 investment funds, with major stakeholders including Davidson Kempner (13.3%), Palmerston Capital (5.6%), Deltroit (5.47%), System 2 Capital (5.15%) and Invesco (5.14%). In 2024, the group executed a substantial recapitalisation that reduced its debt from €1.4bn to roughly €190m, aiming to secure stability and support expansion across Latin America and Europe.
Established in Spain in 1980, the group confines its operations to regulated jurisdictions. It holds a solid position in Spain and Italy, alongside Latin American markets including Mexico, Argentina, Panama, Uruguay and Colombia, offering an omnichannel opportunity throughout the region.

MGM China initiates Playing Card Recycling project in partnership with a Macau tech firm

According to the company's announcement, gaming cards removed from gaming floors are processed through an automated card shredding line. Subsequently, the shredded paper is transported to a local facility where it is converted into high-quality fibers. A notable feature of this process is its independence from water usage. These fibers are then utilized in the production of eco-friendly packaging, effectively giving the cards a second life within Macau's supply chain.
Once fully implemented, the system will be capable of processing approximately 3,000 tons of used cards annually, with recycling being a continuous part of the product's lifecycle. The introduction of this project signifies its establishment as a permanent waste management solution for this product category under MGM China's responsibility, rather than a temporary experiment.
